Born and raised on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Andrew is the founder and CEO of Shift and the developer behind all of Shift’s experiential learning programs and youth care centres. Andrew is an award-winning Child and Youth Care Practitioner, entrepreneur, facilitator, public speaker and consultant who was named as one of ‘Atlantic Canada’s top 50 most inspiring entrepreneurial leaders under the age of 40′ by 21inc. In the past two decades, Andrew has worked all over Canada with youth and adults alike in schools, care programs, group homes, custody centres, families, community organizations, wilderness programs, and has a specialized focus on supporting Indigenous communities. A skilled facilitator, Andrew has a distinctive and fun teaching style that incorporates storytelling, enjoyable games and unique activities to increase the impact and entertainment of his sessions. Through this he has created over 20 unique programs and workshops, which have been facilitated to well over 100,000 people. In 2019, Andrew was selected into the 12th cohort of the Wallace McCain Institute’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Program (ELP) and has been an active member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) since 2021.
